Bangladeshi cricketer could not go to IPL despite being invited

Mustafizur Rahman is the only cricketer of Bangladesh playing in IPL. He is playing for Chennai Super Kings, the most successful team of the tournament and five-time champions. The left-arm pacer has played five matches so far.

Like Mustafiz, another pacer of the national team, Shariful Islam, could also get a chance in this year’s IPL. IPL team Lucknow Super Giants wanted to take Shariful in the team this time. The team wanted Shariful for the entire season.

However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) did not want to give him leave for more than a month. That’s why this left-handed pacer did not play in IPL. The BCB was willing to release Shariful for a period of one month between the Sri Lanka series and the Zimbabwe series – the two bilateral series at home.

Shariful told reporters at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium on Thursday (April 18), “SMS was sent from Lucknow.” They wanted me, but NOC time was very short, for which they did not contact again. If BCB had given full NOC, it would have happened. But since we have the Zimbabwe series, the NOC was given in that way.

Earlier, Taskin Ahmed also had the opportunity to play for Lucknow Super Giants. They wanted Taskin in the team in 2022 IPL. But Taskin’s IPL was not played due to national team games. That year, the team wanted to take Shariful instead of Taskin. Shariful did not get leave because of the national team game.
